Jennifer Chan

Jennifer Chan has always been fascinated by science in the service of healthcare and both her educational and career path reflects this curiosity and search for impact. After earning her Master of Science degree in Pharmacology and Therapeutics from McGill University, Jennifer began her career in academic research before joining the pharmaceutical industry in 1993.

Since then, Jennifer’s experience and impact has spanned multiple spheres of the business, such as clinical research, regulatory affairs and medical affairs. In her current role of Executive Director of Policy and Government Affairs at Merck Canada, she leverages her deep knowledge of the healthcare ecosystem and leans on the expertise of her highly dedicated team to help improve Canadians’ access to the medicines and vaccines they need.

Purposeful collaboration and impactful partnerships are the main drivers of Jennifer’s continued passion, which is also reflected in her community implication. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the Quebec Consortium for Drug Discovery (CQDM), an organization focused on collaborative R&D, and has been a Merck for Mothers ambassador in Canada since the international program’s launch in 2011.
